Innovate Dorset

SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT

  • Innovate Dorset is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff, trustees, and volunteers to share this statement.
  • If concerns arise regarding a child or young person, Innovate Dorset Ltd may need to share information with relevant agencies. While we make every effort to inform parents or carers beforehand, there may be instances where this is not possible if doing so could compromise the welfare of the child or young person or if the concern directly relates to the parent or carers.

  • It is a requirement for all staff to read and agree to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE, 2024) and we actively support the Government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

  • Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.

  • We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism. And include the requirement for staff to have read and agreed to the Government KCSIE 2024 Part One  (Keeping Children Safe in Education) as part of our induction process for new staff.

You can talk to us about anything. - No problem is too big or too small.

You can always talk to NSPCC if you’re worried about a child.

Contact their helpline and speak to one of our trained counsellors for information and advice.

When it is identified, Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation should be reported to your local Police to enable effective safeguarding of potential victims and investigation of suspected criminal activity.
