SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT

“Innovate Dorset is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff, trustees, and volunteers to share this statement”

If there are concerns about a child or young person may need to share information to other relevant agencies. While we endeavour to discuss this with the parents/carers first, we may be unable to do this if we have reason to believe this would be contrary to the child or young person’s welfare.

It is a requirement for all staff to read and agree to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE, 2022) and we actively support the Government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

Designated Safeguarding Officer: Claire Escott, Company Manager

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer: Sam Thomas, Youth Practitioner

  • Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare.
  • We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.
  • We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism. And include the requirement for staff to have read and agreed to the Government KCSIE 2022 Part One  (Keeping Children Safe in Education) as part of our induction process for new staff.
